The Chicago market is seeking a talented and dynamic Senior Graphic Designer who thrives in a fast-paced working environment.  We are looking for a passionate, motivated, goal-oriented and highly creative individual with a proven track record of over-achieving on design and video. 

The Senior Graphic Designer develops innovative and creative branding elements with a focus on designing digital and printed marketing materials. This position creates smart, beautiful, impactful, and compelling design and graphics across all mediums.

This position conceptualizes, designs, and delivers creative solutions of medium to high complexity for many platforms (e.g., interactive Web, social content, print work, video, etc.). This position translates marketing objectives into user experiences that are emotionally engaging and consumer friendly with an emphasis on website, social, media, print, digital, interactive, video, and mobile applications.

The role’s primarily focus is to support the creative needs of our three Chicago radio stations as well as those needs of our clients’ digital marketing campaigns.  In some cases, this person will work with the Sales Department to generate appropriate client-facing presentations and recaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates inspiring, strategic, and innovative ideas and presents creative solutions to ensure design meets the business objectives and remains on-brand with our stations or clients.
  • Collaborates with creative team members to determine the layout, visual appearance, and usability of creative solutions to ensure alignment with the creative brief and target market.
  • Develops branding elements, including digital, outdoor, print, video, social media, collateral and promotional materials, and in-store signage from concept to pre-press to production.
  • Collaborates with the creative team to develop and implement design solutions and to ensure successful representation (i.e., cohesive messaging and consistent branding) of the brand across all media.
  • Creates conceptual layouts in accordance with design principles (e.g., color, typography, photographic selection, etc.) for the brand, elements, and usability.
  • Collaborates with the creative team to develop and implement design solutions and to ensure successful representation (i.e., cohesive messaging and consistent branding) of the brand across all media.
  • Coordinates creative activities to ensure stakeholder's requirements are met on time and within budget while aligning with the creative brief criteria, brand guidelines, and design standards (e.g., quality, etc.).
  • Monitors the timing, integrity, and quality of deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously from inception through the creative process to the execution of all materials.
  • Collaborates with the creative team and stakeholders to create interactive art and videos (e.g., product training campaign summaries, etc.).
  • Develops, refines, and recommends enhancements for the creative platform for Web.
  • Provides conceptual layouts with the use of graphics based on pre-determined guidelines and formats.
  • Establishes the conceptual and stylistic execution for projects and campaigns to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and design standards.
  • Creates storyboards by identifying the range of elements to be used, the story to be told, etc.
  • Directs and/or assists with photo shoots, video production, location visits, and other stages of the creative development or production process.
  • Documents stylistic rules appropriate for the brand, the medium, and the audience, including color palette, typography, and logo-wordmark guidelines.
  • Performs print production tasks, including but not limited to downloading files, Photoshop, and preparing files for print and color correction.
  • Documents work in a timely manner and within proper archival protocol for team access (e.g., correspondence, files, drawings, etc.).


  • 2+ years of experience graphic design, marketing, and/or advertising preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in varied media (e.g., digital, social, print, video, etc.)
  • Pre-press and production experience preferred
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and other web technologies is preferred
  • Exceptional portfolio that showcases creativity, visual skills, high graphic standards, and solid conceptual, color and layout skills through static, dynamic, and interactive media preferred
  • Experience creating marketing collateral, aids, Web, video, and print graphics preferred
  • Typographical and color theory skills required
  • Bachelor's degree in design, art, marketing, or other related field of study preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Online and social media fluency (e.g., eCommerce, websites, blogs, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of visual and digital design principles
  • Knowledge of the pre-press production process, including knowledge of graphic/image preparation for print and online
  • Knowledge of the graphic and functional aspects of Web and application design
  • Knowledge of print production, including color separations, font, and proper file preparation
  • Knowledge of the latest design and photography trends and ability to find ways to adapt these into strategic designs within the organization's brand
  • Ability to create and edit video for Web, email, applications, and social media
  • Ability to convey clear, concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats; and to demonstrate active listening while engaging others
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, trust, and support
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of stakeholders (e.g., internal and external customers, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Ability to work under time constraints to ensure critical deadlines and quality standards are met in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires attention to detail and big picture thinking; and to effectively prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with seasoned creative and marketing team.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through assessing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; and to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks
