Account Development Specialist

Cumulus Media | Salt Lake City has an immediate opening for an Account Development Specialist for our Salt Lake City 6 station cluster.  The Account Development Specialist generates and qualifies target accounts and creates viable high-quality sales opportunities.  The Account Development Specialist is an integral part of a radio advertising sales team and will follow a structured 18-month training program growing from Account Development Specialist to an Account Executive.  The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking and have the ability to balance multiple deadline-oriented projects while maintaining a great attitude and sense of humor in a fast-paced work environment. Cumulus | Salt Lake City currently features 6 stations in the Salt Lake City area and surrounding counties.  Our stations include:  93.3 KUBL-FM Country, 98.7 KBEE-FM Adult Contemporary, 101.1 KBER-FM Rock 94.9 KENZ-FM Top 40, 94.9 KHTB-FM Alternative and Utah’s Big Talker AM-860.  The cluster of 6 stations reaches thousands of listeners on a daily basis, and delivers results for hundreds off advertisers. Cumulus Salt Lake City also offers competitive and Innovative Digital products that are geared to support our advertisers radio strategy.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Structured 18-month training program growing from Account Development Specialist to Account Executive
  • Full integration with the sales team by turning cold calling prospects into warm leads for the Sales Team to follow up on
  • Manage and monitor your work using AMP CRM, and other sales tools and technologies
  • Communicate the value of the CUMULUS MEDIA platform to decision makers and influencers to Learn what we have to offer and understand how it will benefit local Businesses
  • Support sales efforts by targeting and penetrating Enterprise Accounts utilizing outbound prospecting skills.
  • Exceed expectations while aiding the entire organization to do the same.
  • Additional duties as designated by the Director of Sales, Market Manager or Business Manager related to sales functions 


  • 1-3 Years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising and/or promotions preferred
  • Extensive computer skills including but not limited to extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, image manipulation, social media and the ability to adapt to proprietary computer systems
  • Self-starter that is detail oriented, organized, and must be excellent at written and oral communication and possess strong multitasking skills
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and possess a team player attitude
  • Aptitude to make decisions and work independently without immediate direction or supervision
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels
  • Experience developing new business relationships in an inside sales role
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and possess a team player attitude
