Promotions Assistant

JOB TITLE: Promotions Assistant

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

ROLE TYPE/DURATION: Part-Time

COMPENSATION: Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Promotions (WKQX, WLS-FM & WLS-AM)

JOB SUMMARY: Seeking an energetic, outgoing and detail-oriented brand ambassador who can drive brand awareness and revenue through strategic marketing campaigns and events. This will be an integral role in aligning sales and marketing efforts. You represent our Cumulus Chicago radio stations to the public and gain valuable experience to propel you into the radio world! † † † † † † † † † † † † †

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Execute and lead all field marketing events from concept to completion (Sales promotions, concerts, festivals, live broadcasts, etc.)
  2. Create customer and client satisfaction through superior service and attention to detail
  3. Correspond with clients, vendors and/or venue organization at concerts and promotional events to ensure that all needs are met
  4. Supervise and educate interns on radio street marketing and execution of promotional events
  5. Assist in winner correspondence and fulfillment including logging all prize winners and distributing prizes
  6. Assist in maintenance of station vehicles and make sure they are in safe working order
  7. Provide receptionist switchboard relief when needed
  8. Other job-related duties as required

Requirements:

    • Strong marketing & promotional background
    • Outgoing and upbeat personality is a MUST!
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public, station personnel, clients and outside vendors.
    • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in high-pressure, time-critical situations
    • Be able to work 20-30 hours/per week, mainly week nights and weekends
    • Must possess valid driverís license and have exceptional driving record for vehicle operation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).† College enrolled or degree preferred.
  • Previous work experience or internship within radio, media, marketing, promotion, PR and/or special events.
  • Computer proficient and able to use standard office equipment (i.e., Outlook, Microsoft Office, Google Docs)
  • Experience with video editing, web design, writing, photography, event planning &/or social media a plus.
  • Must be willing to work in a smoke-free environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work long and varied hours

  • Substantial physical movement is required for this position. Must be able to lift & transport various equipment, including heavy items up to 50 lbs.
