Digital Marketing Strategist.

Location: Washington, DC

This role requires a self-starter who is motivated and has excellent skills in time management, prioritizing, and communication. This individual must be organized, reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented. The Digital Marketing Strategist will report to the Director of Sales.

Cumulus Washington, DC features a robust digital marketing suite and two radio stations in the DC Metro Area and the surrounding counties. WSBN and WMAL reach well over a million listeners on a daily basis. Our Opportunity:

Cumulus DC has an immediate opening for a full time Digital Marketing Strategist at its broadcast facilities. This individual will help to ensure that all digital marketing campaigns are properly planned and executed. All campaigns will align with station priorities, grow audience/traffic, offer unique content appropriate to a particular show/brand, and ultimately grow revenue from the interactive properties. The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for planning and implementing campaigns across various platforms (online, mobile, and devices). This position will work alongside Account Executives to help facilitate digital solutions provided by approved vendors.

General Responsibilities

  • Create strong integrated digital and radio media solutions with supporting validation
  • Analyze campaigns to optimize future solutions to maximize client’s ROI
  • Work with cross-functional Cumulus teams (Marketing, Creative Services, Paid Search, Display, Analytics, etc.) to manage processes
  • Research, amass, and analyze competitive data
  • Monitor campaign performance across all digital solutions.
  • Possess knowledge of banner sales and design, Targeted Email, mobile platforms, social media, SEM, SEO and website fundamentals.
  • Gather, analyze and provide reporting results on all digital campaigns for customers and account executives.
  • Support creative process across all digital platforms.
  • Renew all campaigns for Account Executives.
  • Be confident to convey campaign status and optimizations to clients
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales and Programming departments to ensure that any digital campaign has been executed to the client’s expectations
  • Designing graphics for web, social media, print, sales initiatives

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • BA or BS degree – Marketing, Information Systems, Web Design, or Business is preferred
  • Full understanding of digital marketing
  • Ability and will to learn new digital industry trends as they relate to customer goals
  • Motivation to educate others about the digital industry in a way that promotes a collaborative atmosphere
  • Patience (This is a significant skill in teaching clients about digital, as well as Account Executives that are new to digital.)
  • Flexibility in day to day tasks and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to create professional reports and presentations
  • Strong web background, with content management system experience a plus
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Excellent time/project management skills; Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills across all teams to get things done efficiently and correctly
  • Solid understanding of marketing campaign metrics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, as well as Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere
